The structure of romantic love across cultures
A collaboration on measuring different dimensions of romantic love across cultural samples.
Read the article ↗My research focuses on romantic love, relationship quality and how people respond to hurt in close relationships, including forgiveness, unforgiveness and revenge.
I have researched romantic and close relationships since 2016. My doctoral dissertation at Tarbiat Modares University examined the meaning of romantic love among Iranian women and men. My work has also included cross-cultural research on love and the measurement of beliefs about romantic relationships.
From 2023 to 2025, I was a Postdoctoral Associate at the University of Calgary, working with Susan Boon on forgiveness, unforgiveness and revenge. I continue to collaborate with her on relationship research.
My current work with Susan Boon includes a scoping review of revenge in romantic relationships. We are examining how the topic has been studied, what the literature tells us, and which questions remain open.
This scoping review maps studies of revenge in romantic relationships, bringing together the questions, methods and findings in this literature.
This preregistered study examines associations between early maladaptive schemas and forgiveness, unforgiveness and revenge after a romantic partner’s wrongdoing. It also examines how these associations vary with perceived relationship quality.
