Individual psychotherapy in Ontario
Sadeq Fallahtafti, PhD
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)CRPO #23252
Therapy for adults aged 18 and over offers space to talk about difficulties with emotions, motivation, relationships or everyday life. Together, we explore the roots and patterns of your experience and work towards change.

What we can work on
What brings you to therapy?

Individual therapy can address a range of concerns in adulthood. The examples below are not an exhaustive list. Even if your experience is not listed, we can discuss it in the initial consultation and consider whether my practice is a suitable fit.
- Anxiety, worry and feeling insecure
- Depression, low mood and loss of motivation
- Obsessive or intrusive thoughts and repetitive behaviours
- Low self-worth and self-criticism
- Relationship difficulties and recurring interpersonal patterns
- Trauma-related concerns, grief and loss
- Immigration, identity and life transitions
- Work pressure and difficulties in everyday life
My approach
Practical change, with room for deeper understanding
I began practising with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in 2015, and I still value practical progress and relief from distress. Over time, Schema Therapy became the main framework for my individual work, offering a way to understand recurring patterns, unmet emotional needs and the connection between earlier experiences and life today.
Sessions make room for your lived experience, careful listening, pauses and reflection, alongside practical exercises when useful. We adjust the focus and pace to your needs and readiness, and review progress together.

From a first conversation to a plan
A first conversation
In the free 20-minute initial consultation, we discuss what brings you to therapy and whether I can help. You can ask about sessions, fees and insurance. If working together is a suitable fit and our availability aligns, we can arrange your first therapy session.
Assessment and a shared plan
If you decide to begin, the first sessions focus on your concerns, relevant history and goals. We agree together on the focus and direction of therapy.
Ongoing work and review
Sessions usually begin weekly. We review what is changing, what remains difficult and whether the focus or pace needs adjusting.
Practical information
Fees, location and insurance
Standard fee per 45-minute individual session. The initial 20-minute consultation is free.
Insurance and receipts
Many extended health plans cover psychotherapy. Before starting, confirm coverage for a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), online sessions, along with your plan’s limits. I provide receipts for reimbursement.
You must be physically in Ontario during each session. Sessions are online; no travel to an office is needed.
