Sadeq Fallahtafti, PhD
Registered Clinical CounsellorBCACC #25480
When conversations turn into familiar arguments or you feel distant from each other, therapy offers space to understand what is happening and explore different ways of responding.

What we can work on
When the same cycle keeps returning

These are some examples of what we can work on. In the initial consultation, we can discuss your particular relationship concerns and whether couples therapy is a suitable fit.
- Recurring conflict and communication difficulties
- Emotional distance and loneliness within the relationship
- Trust injuries and jealousy
- Intimacy, needs and boundaries
- Immigration and life-transition pressures
- Relational cycles that are difficult to change
My approach
Schema Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy
My clinical work began with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in 2015. Today, my couples work centres on Schema Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Alongside addressing current tension, we explore recurring cycles, emotional needs and the experiences that shape each partner’s responses.
We make room to hear both partners and understand what lies beneath anger, hurt or withdrawal. At the same time, we work on expressing feelings and needs more clearly and finding new ways to connect. The pace and next steps are shaped by your circumstances and our review of progress.

From a first conversation to a plan
A first conversation
In the free 20-minute initial consultation, we discuss what brings you to therapy and whether I can help. You can ask about sessions, fees and insurance. If working together is a suitable fit and our availability aligns, we can arrange your first therapy session.
Assessment and a shared plan
If you decide to begin, the first sessions focus on your concerns, relevant history and goals. We agree together on the focus and direction of therapy.
Ongoing work and review
Sessions usually begin weekly. We review what is changing, what remains difficult and whether the focus or pace needs adjusting.
Practical information
Fees, location and insurance
Standard fee per 55-minute couples session. The initial 20-minute consultation is free.
Insurance and receipts
Many extended health plans cover clinical counselling. Before starting, confirm coverage for a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), online sessions and couples therapy, along with your plan’s limits. I provide receipts for reimbursement.
Both partners must be physically in British Columbia during each session. Sessions are online; no travel to an office is needed.
